All plasma coagulation factors. FVIII 200 IU.

·        Correct coagulation factor deficiency

·        Emergency Warfarin Reversal

·        Usual dose 15ml/kg (2-4units)

·       -25°C

·       Thawed immediately prior to use (by blood bank)

·       If not transfused return to blood fridge < 30 mins

·       Standard blood administration giving set

·       ABO compatible

·       Stat - 2 hours

·       NB: Vitamin K and/or Prothrombinex for warfarin/liver disease

PROTHROMBINEX™-VT

·       Reversal of warfarin

·       Coagulopathy of liver disease

·       FII, FIX or FX deficiency

·       Vials in blood bank fridge

·       15 minutes

Blood group not required

Contains some activated factor – possible thrombosis

CRYOPRECIPITATE

FVIII >70IU;

Fibrinogen >140mg vWF >100 IU/unit; also contains FXIII & fibronectin.
